I’m sure I’m not alone in being torn between keeping an eye on the Middle East and watching over a loved one’s health and healing. My heart goes out to all of you.
I’ve kind of got my head buried in the sand over the war. I know that we’re bombing and invading, but that’s about […]

There are a ton of important things going on today in my life. An important meeting, the boys going to the vet, St. Patrick’s Day, and, oh yeah, impending war.
I heard the stock market jumped 118 points in response to a prediction that the war will be short. Whatever.
I did one of the most important […]

i am very proud of the high schoolers in Pennington, NJ. As I was driving to work this morning, I encountered approximately 20 of them standing on the street corners of two of the busiest streets in the area. There was a police car on either corner (for protection, I hope) and two chaperones. These […]

Iraq intends to “cause damage or destruction” to its own oil fields if war breaks out, and the U.S. military has plans to secure and protect the fields in the event of hostilities, a senior U.S. defense official said on January 24, 2003. The official, […]

By Andrew Hammond
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - European heavyweights France and Germany have joined forces to try to prevent a U.S.-led war on Iraq and NATO has put off a decision on whether to support military action.
Amid the diplomatic manoeuvring on Wednesday, a Moscow news agency quoted a Russian military source as […]

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
what can i say about this book? it's a lovely memoir of julia child's arrival in paris, her journey learning the language and discovering her life's passion in cooking.
the whole story is special to me, having grown up watching her show on television. mrs. child taught me a great many things about cooking (including the fact that mistakes are okay) and her warm, engaging style comes through in the text. i could hear her warbly voice in my head the entire time i was reading.
