the passing of gordon whitefoot…

Gordy, my first kitty boy, who became my mom’s dear cat after i moved out, has rejoined the bountiful energy of the universe.

he’s been sick for a while. had a full round of chemo and seemed to be doing a bit better, but went downhill rapidly over the weekend.

he’s good now, at peace. i know this for a fact.

pictures of him later, when i get home to the scanner.

i miss him.

love this…

went out and took some shots of the snow. we’re supposed to get another inch or two tonight!
too bad it looks like christmas will be a bit warm (mid-40s) and rainy. i just hope the snow can hold out.

but now, for anyone who reads this blog and doesn’t live up north, a bit of winter wonderland for your enjoyment:

oh the weather outside is frightful…

but the fire is so delightful. seriously. anyone with a computer needs to download and install the screensaver behind that link. it is awesome.

snow is piling up here in the northeast. the predicted five to eight inches is looking to reach the high end of that range, if it’s not there already. more snow on sunday and maybe on christmas as well. we haven’t had a white christmas in a couple of years. it’ll be nice.

we’re all snestled up, drinking tea and wrapping gifts. the boys are thrilled to have paper to play with, ribbons to chew and people to cuddle.

and my studio’s energy is starting to feel settled again. huzzah.

oh poo…

mixwit is closing down in another week. what a bummer. must find some other cool way to share those playlists now. i really liked that little, old-school tape look. soooo bummed.

it seems the RIAA is bound and determine to kill the wonderful little mixtape community that sprouted up on the web this year. i’m not really suprised, honestly. i’m just waiting for this system to break completely down and i hope something good and useable rises from the ashes of our out-dated copyright system.

viva la revolucion!

joy to the world!

my studio is back up and running. things are not quite where they’re supposed to be, but it’s all going to be pulled back apart anyway when we get the new carpet installed. regardless of that, i feel a bit more homey in my home again.

the little tree we’re using this year instead of the big one is also up and running. it’s adorable and cheerful and i can see it out of the corner of my eye as i type this. it feels a little more like the holiday season now.

we tried to hang the lights outside, like fools. it was midnight and dark and we couldn’t hack it. think we may have heard a coyote. yes, a coyote. in new jersey. definitely some kind of large-ish predator at the very least and definitely not a regular ol’ dog.

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
