halloween shenanigans…

strange holiday, halloween. this one was quite fun, considering i didn’t actually wear a real costume. (for the record, i wore my season 1 buffy shirt and said i was a season 1 buffy fan from 1997)

what did happen, however, was as follows:

the daycare in the building i work in had a parade of little ones (2,3 & four year olds) trick or treating. there were three dorothys, a couple of fairies and princesses (including one little fairy who had had enough and wandered around in her white leotard and tights, clutching a broken wand), a maskless darth vader, some pirates and… a UPS man.

in the afternoon, the production team painted one of our number’s head. he was going as a maori/hawaiian warrior guy. it came out freakin’ awesome. i’ll see if the others will agree to letting me post the picture here.

got home and all the little ones had already come through, so we settled in to watch… sleeping beauty. turned out this was a surprisingly good choice and beauty goes all green zombie when maleficent gets her claws on the poor girl. also, the line “Now shall you deal with ME, o Prince - and all the powers of HELL!” struck me as quite in the holiday spirit.

next stop, “it’s the great pumpkin, charlie brown”. can’t wait and i’ll be watching shortly after i post this. yay!

i also tried to stop by the nanowrimo website an hour or so ago. barely was able to log in and couldn’t even get the forums to load. i wish any who are tackling the challenge this year all the luck. if i can get my muse going, i’ll be editing my secret project and getting that further along in lieu of starting something new. still, if the muse strikes the way i think it will, there may be a thousand or so words that i can count towards an unofficial nano attempt.

tai chi calls. must run. laters.

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
