david tennant is leaving doctor who after the specials are done next year.

i love him as the doctor, but then i loved eccleston, too. and i’m currently awaiting patrick troughton’s take over from william hartnell. in short, the doctor is all about change.

so we’ll have a few more episodes of 10, and then it’s on to 11. (insert witty spinal tap reference here)

frontrunner in the fan rumor mill is paterson joseph. for anyone who’s seen gaiman’s ‘neverwhere’, he brilliantly played the marquis. if he uses that character as a template for the doctor, it’ll be fucking amazing.

now that the announcement is official, i’m finding it surprisingly easy to let go of this doctor and look forward to the next one. funny that i hung a 10 poster up yesterday and came in this morning to find it had fallen off the wall.

btw, the energy around me is quite whack right now. too much shifting, here’s to hoping things settle after tomorrow’s ghosts pass through.
