one more try…

i’m going to start hitting the pavement again. saw myself in the mirror this afternoon and i really don’t like what i’m seeing.

things have shifted and settled enough in my life that i think i can make this work now. i realize i’ve been overeating, filling up on junk, and generally being slothful. i’m doing my best not to be down on myself, despite having to acknowledge all of this.

so walking the length of my street up and back. about 23-25 minutes every day. i’m debating the weighing thing, as it tends to be discouraging, though it is a useful milestone.

also using the dontbreakthechain.com thingy. been using it for my tai chi and a couple other daily habits and it’s been working beautifully. hopefully it will work for this as well.

not sure how this will all work out on rainy days or blizzards and such. perhaps i’ll subsitute on those days with extra tai chi. also, i usually need to cook dinner as soon as i get home, so i’ll have to figure out the timing for such things. probably just have to walk after dinner.

and i’ve got to work out a way to stop eating so damned much late in the evening.

okay, i’m going to stop before i start sounding pathetic.

in other news, i was a knitting demon last night and got a third of my second wrist warmer finished. i just put the headphones on, got braveheart settled in my lap and knit away. i’m excited and inspired to get that and a couple other projects done so i can move on to other things.

it’s the doctor and the who scarf for me tonight. after this new walking thing, that is. :D

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
