oh hai!

just trodding the path before me lately. nothing much to mention, hence the silence from my end of the internet. i’m just keeping my head above water. i keep trying to get stuff done and things like work and mundane life keep getting in my way. i’m starting to adjust my head and get things in perspective so i don’t get depressed by it all. also trying to maximize my down time by moving forward in tiny increments on as many things as i can.

i like the idea of putting my head down and working, not paying attention to the road. that’s a bit harder to do when you don’t want to do the job in front of you. oh well, i’ll focus on adjusting that perspective and i’m sure my head will clear.

in other news:
tire problems on tuesday. thanks to mom & dad, all is well.
watched ‘order of the phoenix’ last night. huzzah. simply can’t wait until november.
pulled some of my yarn out and reorganized my knitting bag. i think down time will soon include knitting to music.

speaking of yarn… i taught myself to crochet over the weekend!!! it’s something i’ve tried to do a bunch of times (taught myself to knit a few years ago as well, so it’s not as crazy as it sounds) but for some reason it’s never gelled. finally did on sunday and i’m working on a bag.

i went looking for patterns and ended up on ravelry.com. there, i found some very cute little birds and things to make. i also found something that’s going to keep me in crochetland for a while:

Docs, Rose and the Master

yup. that’s the ninth doctor, rose, the tenth doctor, and the master as he appears in season 3 (haven’t gotten to him yet on dvd, but i knew he was coming). how fun is that? and they’re so cute!

okay, back to work for me.

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
