coffee?!?

hormones are weird, that’s all i have to say.

felt kinda ill this morning and got to work a tiny bit late. not bad, though, all things considered. i did have to skip tai chi this morning, which sucked. i was just too off and too late. i’ll do it this evening when i’m sure i’ll be feeling better.

got to work and grabbed my huge mug (it’s got an nyc subway map on it and literally can hold an entire package of ramen. i heart my mug) all ready to get some water. when i walked into our kitchen area i stood there for a minute, staring at the coffee machine. we’ve got one of those new fangled pod things that makes a cup at a time. there’s tea as well, but this morning i found myself selecting decaf hazelnut and putting my mug under the spout. i am a tea drinker as you all well know, so you can join me in the realization of exactly how weird this is. cravings are strange beasts, but i have to admit, this is tasty.

let’s see, what else is going on?

been watching ‘greensburg’. the dvr is probably the best modern invention on the planet. no tapes and i’m not forced to schedule my life around television, yet i still get to watch things, sans commercials. haven’t used it tons yet, but greensburg is the first show i’ve regularly watched in literally years. i’ll have to see what else i stumble upon when the fall shows start up, though i’m more than occupied by netflix for now.

i definitely feel like i’m in an absorption phase. watching tons of stuff, reading an awful lot, yet spending much less time on the net. the tai chi is working, for sure. i’m just calmer and feel less pressure to get things done. so far, so good. it simply feels right and balanced and like this is exactly what i should be doing right now.

and i owe pictures. the empire state building is awesome and the view from the top was tremendous. i shall do a gallery soon, i promise. perhaps tonight.

speaking of tonight, i think i’ll finally get over to the farmer’s market on the way home. i’ve needed to go for the last week and just haven’t made it. i highly recommend finding one in your area. at the one i go to, the prices are about half of what they are at the grocery store. crazy.

and that’s the scoop. i’m off to occupy myself with graphics tutorials and secret project work. huzzah!

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
