“The Supreme Court of New Jersey became the first court in the nation yesterday to rule that people have an expectation of privacy when they are online, and law enforcement officials need a grand jury warrant to have access to their private information.”
more info here. i’m proud of our state government, such a nice change […]

adrift again.
all night i dreamt scattered:
groups of things i NEEDED, in that way you desperately need things only in dreams, spread out across the floor and i struggled to gather them like i was in some kind of warped video game.
various people all pulling on my attention, trying to get me to focus […]
i always miss these things…
on wednesday, i should have posted something like this:
six years ago, i started this blog. it’s gone through more versions than i can count anymore. different layouts, different hosts, different backends. yet somehow, through some strange miracle, i’ve managed to keep it running, keeping it whole through all the changes.
i’m not the most consistent […]
damn…
chip kidd, my current graphic design hero, is going to be at the NY comic con tomorrow.

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
what can i say about this book? it's a lovely memoir of julia child's arrival in paris, her journey learning the language and discovering her life's passion in cooking.
the whole story is special to me, having grown up watching her show on television. mrs. child taught me a great many things about cooking (including the fact that mistakes are okay) and her warm, engaging style comes through in the text. i could hear her warbly voice in my head the entire time i was reading.
