our trip got canceled. no ponies or ocean for us this weekend. dear bear got a not-too-bad-but-still-pretty-debilitating case of salmonella (poor thing!).

thankfully, curly had a nice, mellow birthday yesterday. we had yummy homemade dinner and went to see Harold and Kumar 2. omg, that was all kinds of wrong-funny.

so now i’m home with an unexpected amount of free time. granted, the trip was going to be free time as well, but being home instead of away, it’s just… different.

right now i’m attempting to install the newest version of ubuntu on my hacker mac. i am nothing if not a glutton for punishment with this stuff.

other things on the to do list include a trip to the library and washing my bedroom floor. i do also intend to do some creative stuff. the secret projects have been a bit stalled out lately, and i need to get them back on track.

the weather broke here after a couple days of unseasonal warmth and the windows are open letting in the glorious springtime air. it’s nice and cool and clear.

started reading ‘Twilight’ last night. seems all the kiddies have moved to that series from Harry Potter and since i’m still a teenager inside, i couldn’t resist the vampires. thus far, it’s great.

here’s to a quiet, grounding weekend. i hope to come out the other end with my creative juices flowing freely once again.

and now for some birthday cake. ice cream birthday cake that is… mmmmm. cake.
