things are shifting once again, hopefully towards the happier end of the spectrum. got a lot accomplished today, the second sunday in a row where i’ve been able to do that. huzzah.
the studio is in a state of flux at the moment as some new furniture comes into the house and we swap things around. i’ve been meaning to take pictures of the new desk setup since the holidays so as to show off my pretty monitor and such, but now i think i’ll just wait until i get a few more things straightened up and then post pics of the whole room.
some new, very positive spiritual stuff is also shifting for me. i’m getting much more in touch with some of those parts that i’ve been neglecting, ignoring, or simply not utilizing and the change is quietly dramatic. i feel like i have some real guidance and have been able to release a few burdens that i never should have carried around in the first place.
part of that involves my creativity. i’ve very simply started to view it as joy and not a burden. this isn’t coming easily and i have to remind myself of it constantly, but when i do then the work comes that much easier and i no longer have a problem plunging in and getting lost in it. huzzah the mighty muse.
in other news, i’ve posted a few pieces of watercolor art i did a few years ago. added them to deviant art as well. i don’t usually do web updates on the weekends, but today was the first day of a two day fasting for me and i needed to do something to keep my mind off of food. in fact, that’s why this blog entry is occurring and also why i’ll probably get a bunch of other things done this evening as well.
fasting is a very interesting experiment. i’ve done it before for spiritual purposes, though this time i’m doing it as the start of a new eating regimen. it’s definitely one of the more difficult tests of willpower i’ve experienced, mostly due to the fact that we have a pantry full of food.
okay, going to stop rambling about that right now as my stomach starts growling at the mere mention of food.
tomorrow i go back to work. i’m hoping i can keep this good energy going this week and beyond.
