this post is probably more for me than for any of you all, but maybe you’ll be interested in some of this stuff even if i don’t think you are.
updated the doodles again. i’m a couple days behind, but then i was expecting that at the beginning. this is about building a daily habit, not about reaching some timely goal, so i’m not going to give myself too much guff over missing a day or two. i need to make them up, so i’ll just dive back in and try to do better this week.
i also ran around the site adding a formal link to the doodle project page and also adding an old project to the tactile page. one of these days i’ll get all these pages completely up and running. hopefully i’ll start generating some new stuff soon as well.
the last bit of site news is a bit more exciting. i got myself a box at the local ups store! i also got a grand central phone number, so now i have a completely autonomous phone number and address that keeps me hidden from all the crazies on the internet while still being able to keep in touch with the same said crazies. :P the phone number will act as a ‘customer service’ number to satisfy paypal’s requirement for such things. the address you can find on my ‘about’ page and also on my ‘zines’ page. huzzah!
so, now that i’ve got that bit of infrastructure in place, i’ll be getting all those zines i’ve been working on finished and printed up. everything’s kind of been on hold (and subsequently i’ve been lazy about actually finishing any of it) while i got some bucks together to pay for the box. now that i have it i’ve got to get my butt in gear!
in other creative news, i’ve started my own wiki for my galaxy. it works almost exactly like wikipedia, which i’m thrilled about. i’ve got the worldbuilding bug again and i’m going to try and take advantage of that energy while i can. if nothing else, i’ll be thrilled if i get all the stuff i already have sorted out and entered into the wiki.
yeah, i guess i’m still in that tedium mode. i’m plugging away at stuff with my head down, hoping that when i pick it up i’ll have some major groundwork down and can look for the next step.
as far as life stuff goes, i’m having trouble with going to work. nothing wrong with my job, i simply don’t want to go. i’d rather stay home and work on all this stuff i’ve already talked about. still, i keep getting up and going. i’ve been through phases like this before and i know i just need to wait them out.
ooh, yeah, and friday i was off work for all the lovely, white, pretty snow we got here. my office was still open, but they aren’t docking any of us that didn’t make it in, it was that bad out. we spent the day doing not much of anything and it was lovely. i cleaned up my itunes (which was a mess) and we started watching the star wars saga for the first time in a couple of years. being of the original trilogy generation, we started with ‘a new hope’ rather than ‘phantom menace’. it’s neat, very much like visiting an old friend. we rounded off the weekend with ‘empire strikes back’.
we also went over to miss m’s house for our new traditional saturday evening movie night. i ate too much fried rice and dumplings (next time we’ll keep it to half the bag!) and watched the second fantastic four movie. saw the first one last week and now i’m wondering what the hell movies all the critics watched. surely it was not the same as the ones i saw, because these most assuredly did not suck. galactus was downright scary!
anyway, i’m getting quite rambly here. i need to blog more often and therefore also more briefly. *sigh* i’m getting there, i’m getting there.
