yeah, yeah, i’ve not been posting much lately. being motivated sure takes up a lot of time, okay? :P
i’ve been having a hard time being at work this week, though the universe smiled kindly on me yesterday and i had the most quiet thursday in recent memory. huzzah. i’ve gotten two major things accomplished this week that will help me move forward with all of my other projects.
first, i got my website ready to launch. it’s not done by any stretch, but it is about ready to go live (feb. 2nd, btw). my plan is to combine my new monday computer maintenance schedule with the website update schedule. hopefully this will keep me on my toes and help me to fulfill one of my 101 goals - keeping the website current. updates will include working on my various project pages as well as updating completed photo galleries, etc. and uploading scans from my sketchbook.
secondly, and this is huge, i finally finished reading the second volume of runciman’s history of the crusades. that thing has been like a boulder over my head for way too long and now it’s done. of course, i still have another whole volume to go before i can move on, but it’s a relief to have taken one step further.
eek. i just double checked my dates and it appears i started volume 2 last april. yes, april. omg, that was way too long to finish a book!
so, anyway, plans for the weekend involve drawing, writing (yes really, writing) and putting my clean clothes away. i always end up being lazy and pulling stuff out of the hamper instead of folding and putting things away. that must be stopped!
now that i’ve ‘laid a foundation’ for the year with the website, i’m going to try to really dig in with the sketching. i’ve got to update my sketching gallery, but i have been doing some off and on. the website just kind of took over for a bit, which was good in a way. i was focused and completed the job rather than having it linger.
enough rambling, i’m off to do other things.
happy friday!
