happy new year, all!
so much going on right now! i’m going to throw some links around and see if i can get you all up to speed in as few words as possible.
got one of these for christmas. i love it. there is a very special kind of magic that happens when you add growing plants to a room. i’ve got it set up in my bedroom, of all places, and it’s really effected the energy in there.
after some deliberation, i’ve gone ahead and set up the sketch gallery. i’ll start posting in there asap and you can all enjoy a good laugh watching me stumble over my fingers as i try to draw people that actually look like people. my deviant art account will also house the sketches as well, but because there will be OMG nekkid people !11!!1!, you’ll have to have an account to see some of my stuff there. (who knew life drawing could be so embarrassing!)
in the less artsy-fartsy front, i’ve installed ‘vista, the operating system of doom’ on a machine that i recently overhauled. for the record:
it installed just fine
i got on the net with little difficulty
it likes my peripherals
it’s very pretty
give me a few more days of playing with it and i’ll have a more complete assessment, but so far, so good. it’s got built-in handwriting recognition (i can use my wacom tablet instead of typing!). i like the new navigation and, to me, it seems like a better system overall. granted i’m a big geek and i know what i’m doing. i can see how someone with less experience could get a little lost or have problems getting things up and running, but then i think that’s true with most operating systems. even OS X is not completely plug and play. /geekrant
oh, and to go with this new box is the most gorgeous monitor EVAR.
ok. back to the more creative stuff. you can unglaze your eyes now.
i’ve got crazy goals. creative, adventurous, exciting, scary goals. so many ideas and projects that i don’t have time to do them all in a year. what’s an insane person to do when faced with such overwhelming insanity? participate in some kind of challenge, of course. i’m going to do a separate post for it, so i can track things more easily, but i’ll give you the link that got me started.
i’ve got 70 right now, so i’m going to need some help coming up with the rest! officially, i started yesterday, but haven’t done much thus far. fortunately, i’ve got 1,000 days to go!
finally, i’m getting ready to write more drabbles and i had a bit of a eureka moment for my worldbuilding project on the drive to work this morning. (huzzah!)
i feel like there’s been a big energy shift and the next year (or two and a half!) feels full of potential. i’m very excited to see what comes out of this and also a tiny bit terrified that i won’t be able to capitalize on it all. cross your fingers for me!
