every step and silent glance…

’twas a good weekend.

got up early on saturday and walked, then worked on my character profiles for the werewolf book. the current plan is to get all the character profiles done, then do some location research and finally decide on some plot stuff before putting it to rest until november.

spent a bit of time at the library and came home with way too many books, as i often do. got quite a bit more done on my gryffindor scarf while watching the ball game (must get pics of it up!) and also read through some of the werewolf stuff from the library. i actually managed to breeze through the two children’s books on the subject plus a couple monster encyclopedia entries. they mostly covered the same material, which is quickly engraining itself in my brain.

we also watched ‘Touch the Sound’. amazing stuff. omg, Evelyn Glennie just rocks. watching her play, totally absorbed by sound to the point where she is simply an instrument herself when she plays was so inspiring. i feel bad that i had not watched it up until now, as it’s been in the house for over a year.

sunday was spent at the Brooklyn Art Museum, which was lovely. took a ton of pics as usual. a lot of time lately i spend in a bit of a daze. i’ve got story and character in my head and little spare energy to expend on the ‘real world’. powerful art both strengthens that feeling and also grounds me a little.

watched ‘Miss Potter’ last night. it took me a while to get around to it, as i knew there was a big downer moment and i had to be ready for it. let me just say i’m glad i knew it was coming, but despite my foreknowledge, i still sat there all weepy.

and now it’s monday and i’m back at work. just as with friday, i was thisclose to calling in sick. i came in because i could just feel that i would not have been any more productive at home that i would be a work, so why waste the sick day?

i think i’ve got my head on a little straighter since getting here and if it is slow enough this afternoon, i’ll be able to get some more work done on my character profiles. wish me luck!

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
