saturday i slept in so late, i couldn’t believe it. i went to bed about 11pm on friday, which is insanely early for me. i didn’t pull my butt out of bed until almost noon on saturday.
i was supposed to be playing roadie and diva handler on saturday night, but my little braveheart decided that eating a daffodil plant was a great way to keep mommy home. he threw it up and seemed okay as we were about to leave, but knowing that this plant is toxic to kitties meant i couldn’t bring myself to leave him alone. i don’t think i could have lived with myself if i’d come home and he was severely ill or worse.
so, with the night ‘off’ i finished rearranging my studio. the writing space is a lot more comfy and i’ve got it wired for web now. this is a good thing because i can use writely (sorry, i mean google docs) to write on and look up things in wikipedia, etc. with less trouble. also, my laptop battery died, so the ol’ ibook is now a desktop unit only, yet another reason why the wired connection is important. i can’t bring the laptop over to the hub like i used to.
anyway, enough with the rambly techie talk. i finished cleaning the studio up, at least as much as i could until i get some better boxes for my fabric and things. had scrambled eggs for dinner and generally putzed around either on the computer or wandering the house thinking about my writing.
watched Gross Pointe Blank. love that movie. somewhere along the line, i became a John Cusack fan, but then i’ve always loved Better Off Dead, so there is precident.
also watched episode 3 of the Beatles Anthology from the library. i’ve still got it on tape, but i was way too lazy to dig it out and the dvds haven’t been played into the ground, either.
sunday greeted me with bagels for breakfast and a lovely walk in Branch Brook Park to see the cherry blossoms. although we didn’t see the ‘big’ show at the other end of the park, we did see some lovely trees and plenty of water fowl (loons!) and goldfinches, which despite it being the state bird, we rarely see.
wound down the night with some cooking and the ball game. (swept by the red sox, oh the agony!) i meant to do some writing things, but ended up just crawling into bed.
and there we go. another thrilling weekend. :P
actually, it was lovely and quiet and restful, so i’m grateful for every moment.
