pulled the back out again. major suckage. on the bright side of that is the chiropractor gave me the yellow light (proceed with caution) to try curly’s back yoga dvd, so we’ll see how that goes. also got a lumbar brace thingy that i’m to use when cooking, walking, lifting, etc. pretty much anything […]
just a bunch of rambling…
one week to go…
i’m starting to get really excited about nanowrimo. i know i’ve been rambling on about it for so long now, but in reality, i’ve not been thinking too deeply about it. now the countdown is in single digits and i’m beginning to make more focused plans on the logistical aspects of this whole project.
things […]
another week, another icon theme…
bear and i talked a while back about this little icon project. yes, i am playing myself, resting on my laurels, treading water, i’ve plateaued. use any metaphor you like, it all boils down to very little advancement or progress in my artwork.
that’s because there is a lot of energy being focused on this […]
indigo girls…
yup, we saw them at NJPAC last night. brilliant show. love the new songs, love the old. Matt Chamberlain was just wonderful to watch, such a tasty drummer, he was an integral glue to the full band stuff.
it was just a really nice time and the seats were great. box seats are the way to […]
truckin’ along…
my novel writing prep is trucking along at a steady pace. all this building feels like it’s beginning to gel somewhat in my mind. basically, all i’m trying to do herer is make this place present enough in my mind so that i can put characters in there and let them wander around and do […]

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
what can i say about this book? it's a lovely memoir of julia child's arrival in paris, her journey learning the language and discovering her life's passion in cooking.
the whole story is special to me, having grown up watching her show on television. mrs. child taught me a great many things about cooking (including the fact that mistakes are okay) and her warm, engaging style comes through in the text. i could hear her warbly voice in my head the entire time i was reading.
