we watched Metropolis last night. first time i’d seen it. it was simultaneously funny, creepy, inspiring and amazing. you have to be in the right mood for it, but what an experience when you are.
after watching it i did a bunch of screencaps of it and, in the process, skimmed through the whole picture a […]

up with chocolate…
or in this case: libraries. chocolate equals sex for many women, me being little exception. it’s just… chocolate, ya know?
for those of us biblio-minded, though, there is a less fattening alternative…
smutty pictures of libraries
pfft!
by what right do they make me work at work?
crazy bastards. who reads these display ads anyway? ugh.
and… and… and…
there is no chocolate in my chocolate stash!
the world is at an end, i tell you!
i’m huddling in my office, making due with dried pineapple until the day is over.
*sobs*
yup, i’m being all politically active and shit…
very, very important information for bloggers and all users of the intarweb.
if you live in NJ, contacting your senators is a piece of cake:
Sen. Frank LautenbergSen. Robert Menendez
i’m sure the other senators for any other state are just as easy to get ahold of, just in case you want to let them know that you […]
the importance of being aware…
had a long day at work, expecting a long day tomorrow. came home, cooked a lovely dinner that was enjoyed thoroughly by the family.
then watched this film:
I Know I’m Not Alone
realized how blessed i truly am. realized how my thoughts of what war is like are equal but a drop in the bucket of what’s […]

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
what can i say about this book? it's a lovely memoir of julia child's arrival in paris, her journey learning the language and discovering her life's passion in cooking.
the whole story is special to me, having grown up watching her show on television. mrs. child taught me a great many things about cooking (including the fact that mistakes are okay) and her warm, engaging style comes through in the text. i could hear her warbly voice in my head the entire time i was reading.
