huzzah for me!
i am taking next friday off so that means i get a four day weekend! it also means two weeks of four day work weeks!
boy do i need it. just time to rebond with home will be lovely. we’ll see how far i can get on my writing project as well. in addition to all that relaxation, i’ve noticed that my little art site has been lonely lately and i’ve got some updates to post.
my lovely, wonderful family gave me a “birthtaste” last night as my 30th is only a month away. new clothes and fabric and yarn for me! thank you kids!
this weekend will hopefully be filled with knitting and reading and writing and more knitting. my brain is abuzz with possibilities as i spent some time on the craftster website today looking at everyone’s projects. i finally registered there in anticipation of participating in the harry potter knit-along. i feel bad that i haven’t worked on it that much lately. i think i got a little discouraged because the yellow yarn i chose is a little too bright. i’m not gonna frog the whole thing and start over, though. i’ll just work it all up, hopefully in time for the movie, and accept it for what it is, a ton of hard work!

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
what can i say about this book? it's a lovely memoir of julia child's arrival in paris, her journey learning the language and discovering her life's passion in cooking.
the whole story is special to me, having grown up watching her show on television. mrs. child taught me a great many things about cooking (including the fact that mistakes are okay) and her warm, engaging style comes through in the text. i could hear her warbly voice in my head the entire time i was reading.
