hey all!

hey all!

many of my favorite bloggsters have put little holds on their writing, so i’m here to write something myself. now, what to write about.

let’s see, well, i’ve been having some very complex dreams lately. they usually occur in the couple of hours before i wake up. my mind makes up these humongously complicated plots and i walk through them. sometimes i’m the protagonist, sometimes i’m watching and sometimes i switch back and forth. i even often have the perspective of the one who’s doing all the work and the one who’s watching, both at the same time! it’s enough to wear a girl out!

needless to say, it leaves me a bit drained in the morning. not that getting up with the alarm is a load of laughs on a good night’s sleep to begin with.

but enough of that. plans are under way for a trip to williamsburg, virginia and i’m psyched! my family used to go down there about every year. if you are a history buff, you’ll love the place. there are actors and restorers bringing the old place to life. i’ve heard tales that when the rockefeller’s (yes, those rockefeller’s) decided to restore the place, they were a bit heavy handed and added a sheen of “life’s really great in colonial times” that came off a bit contrived. as a kid, you never notice that and to be fair, the organization that runs the place has been making great strides in fixing any historical inaccuracies. the biggest example i can think of is that programs, information and actors have been added that better portray the african american experience in that time period. the issues that surround slavery are more visible and better recorded now, things have improved even since i was a kid.

well, now i’ve posted something. i’ve got a cat in my lap that needs love and a zine article to work on. so go find some more blogs to read. may they all have new posts for you.

if you'd like to comment on this entry, just drop me a line! thanks!

sometimes i lay in bed before getting up and dream up the ultimate computer network for our house. it involves a computer-run media center, many redundant terabytes backup drives and a big networked laser printer.
